Sustainability and Consumerism

In theory, both topics are divergent, almost impossible to be linked in any form. In fact, it is almost impossible to live without buying things, but it is possible to live without being a consumerist. Both worlds clash when trash becomes exaggerated and unnecessary.

Sustainability looks towards developing the present generation, however, without affecting future ones; There are endless possibilities and ways to interact with the environment without harm.

Sustainability and the Fashion Industry:

The fashion industry, straight after the oil industry, is considered the most pollutant. Our planet would not survive if this blend of ideas did not happen.

Even though sustainability is a firm subject for many years, we can say that only by 2019, it became rather promoted, allowing for further awareness to reach many branches. In addition, the year of 2019 was marked by the “Fashion Pact” that unites the fashion industry with the G7 leaders. It was a general compromise that looked at climate change, loss of biodiversity and negative impact in the oceans. Think about it, Fashion’s ecological footprint is responsible to 20% to 30% of plastic within the ocean.

After all, changes in behaviour were needed to preserve and protect our Planet Earth, and millennials feel the pressure to change that concept.

We, Fuxia, go against the masses and commit to a healthy approach. Our bags and boxes are made from 100% recycled materials. In addition, chosen collections are always ecologic and sustainable, making a difference within our world.

Such changes, such as recycled plastic, organic cotton, fair trade products or even waterless technology is something we always have in mind. Even vegan products; there is always something for everyone.
