Thrasher, a success story since 1981

Everything started back in California in the year of 1981 with Kevin Thatcher, Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson. The trio is known to be world renown skateboarders that wanted to create and innovate. The original magazine allowed them to promote products as well as spread around very characteristic content related to this lifestyle, such as music, skateboarding articles, photography, interviews and skatepark reviews.

Although, Thrasher itself was only taken to the next level once its first editor, Jake Phelps, joined the team. Known to be sarcastic, ironic and with a very strong personality, every single press release was purely new and, sometimes, not that consensual. However, the market was flooded with impartial and irreverent insights.

The most waited edition was in 1990 – “Skater of the Year”. It is, without a doubt, one of the most prestigious titles awarded.

With over 40 years of history, the huge number of monthly subscribers make this magazine one of the most important across the globe.

Known for its “Flames” logo, even though that it can be found in some if not most items, the Thrasher Hoodie is the most coveted item, seen to be worn by many celebrities.
